I am a mother of three beautiful children and a child care provider to 29 others. I love working with children and watching their imaginations at work. Every day there is at least one moment where I get to witness something click in a young child's mind. The " I got it" or " look what I can do" moments are what this job is all about. Building those stepping stones to learning so that these children can strive in the future!

 

I started doing child care back in March of 2004 after having my son Tyler. I decided that my degrees in Business Administration & Small Business Management could still come in handy but it was time to go back to school. I started working towards my BA in Early Childhood Education an received my Teaching Credential from the state of California in 2007.

 

I opened Breezy Days Child Care on January 3rd 2008 implementing a structured preschool environment & curriculum. I have had over 52 children come through my doors and another 9 starting Kindergarten this coming fall!

Katrina came to work with us during the Fall of 2009. She has been such a wonderful asset to our facility. Katrina works for the Lake County Office of  Education as a Preschool Teacher. She works all around the lake visiting and filling in for any center that needs her. She is such a creative person and can take a busy child filled room and instantly have them engaged in a group writing activity.

 

Katrina put her leadership skills to work this spring as she coordinated and executed the Lake County Cares for Kids Walk and festivities. She teamed up with

 

the Child Abuse Prevention Committee and the Week of the Young Child Council and the results was amazing! Over 200 participants from all over the county showed their support for children with Autism and lined the streets of Lakeport as they walked!

 

We are so pleased to have Miss Katrina here at Breezy Days. She is over qualified to be working in a Family Home Child Care and we are so thankfull she loves it here!!

 

 

 

 

 Julie is currently working towards her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. She came to us through a work experience program set up through Mendocino College and EDD.

 

When I interviewed Julie I was instantly impressed with her bubbly personality and her energy! She is so motivated and such a natural when it comes to a child care provider. She is strict and structured but knows all the cool tricks to get the kids moving and laughing!

 

The children just adore Miss Julie and the second she walks in the all shout her name! Our tough guy 3 year old Brodi was the ultimate test. If she didn't quit after her first week with him then she was a keeper! Oh he yelled at her, he threw his fits and he even resorted to biting Miss Julie!! She stood her ground and made him follow the rules and he learned she was not one to walk all over! Brodi now follows her around and tells her how beautiful she is all day!

 

We are so thrilled to help give Julie the hands on experience she will need when entering the Child Development & Education field! She is such a doll and we are thrilled to have her here at Breezy Days!
